It is impossible for most small roasters to go direct to the coffee farms in Colombia to negotiate a fair price for high quality coffee beans. As a result:

* Access to the highest grade mountain grown Colombian coffee beans is                 often limited
* Supply and pricing are erratic

* The Colombian coffee farms are dwindling because less than market pricing           is putting them out of business.

Mountain Shade Coffee has partnered directly with a co-op of Colombian farmers in the Quindio region, where superior grades of Colombian coffee beans are grown. In addition to paying fair trade pricing on all of our coffee (unlike some who claim “fair trade”), we employ a unique profit sharing arrangement, to help our partners – the farmer, the pickers and the millers – to ensure your supply of high quality beans.

You can taste the quality difference. Mountain Shade Coffee beans are 100% shade grown in the high mountain altitudes. They are hand picked, washed, fully sun dried, and “bird friendly” (largely organically grown). Through our partnership with the Colombian farmers, we can provide a sustainable supply of superior quality Colombian coffee beans for you, the specialty roaster.
